Shapers craft the quiver
About a dozen rad shapers build alternative, non-traditional boards just for the contest. This year we're adding a shapers meet & greet + board reveal the week before — more on that soon.
7th Annual · Charity Surf Contest
100% of proceeds go to the Outer Banks Relief Foundation
Let's get weird (in the best way)
We're stoked to announce the 7th annual Which Craft Surf Gathering is happening Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Byrd St. in Kitty Hawk (rain date: Oct 4). Awards go down after the contest at Swells'a Brewing in Kill Devil Hills — come hang!
Our mission? To celebrate the makers of non-traditional surfboards and the free spirits who ride them. We're here to build community, push boundaries, and reimagine what surfing can be. As always, 100% of proceeds go to the Outer Banks Relief Foundation.
How it works
About a dozen rad shapers build alternative, non-traditional boards just for the contest. This year we're adding a shapers meet & greet + board reveal the week before — more on that soon.
Before each heat, surfers spin the wheel and ride whatever board they land on. No swaps, no take-backs. Style, originality, and stoke count just as much as skill.
After the final heat, every board goes up for auction — with 100% of proceeds going to the Outer Banks Relief Foundation. Live music all day; bands are already booked.

Each year, this grassroots event brings together surfers, shapers, artists, and ocean lovers for a day of fun, expression, and connection. All proceeds from the 2026 event will be donated to the Outer Banks Relief Foundation, supporting local families in need — because taking care of our community is just as important as catching the perfect wave.
Your support covers event costs, prizes and swag, and keeps this gathering safe, welcoming, and unforgettable. In return, your business gets recognition on event signage, social media, and promotions — and a chance to connect with an engaged, surf-loving audience. Product, funds, services, or just showing up and getting salty with us: we'd be stoked to have you on board.
